Lynda Brown, LMSW


Lynda is a Licensed Masters Social Worker in the

State of Michigan. She received her Bachelor’s of

Social Work Degree with high honors in 2000 from

Madonna University and her Masters of Social

Work Degree from Wayne State University in 2002. 

Lynda has over 20 years of clinical experience. She

completed her internships at Family Youth Interventions,

a short-term residential treatment center for adolescents,

and Quality Behavioral Health, a residential treatment

center for addiction. She started her career at

Neighborhood Service Organization—Life Choices,

where she worked with children and teens with

intellectual disabilities and Autism Spectrum Disorder

by completing behavior plans and parent management

training to assist caregivers, schools, and families with challenging behaviors. She worked in the outpatient department of Henry Ford Behavioral Health Services for 18 years, where she gained experience in treating children, adolescents, adults and seniors in individual and family therapy sessions. She was also a supervisor in this department for approximately two years and has experience facilitating groups. 

Lynda has extensive experience treating depression, anxiety, stress, panic, bipolar disorder, trauma, adjustment issues, grief, oppositional behavior, self-harm, suicidal ideation, parenting issues, social skills, self-esteem, ADHD, and women’s issues. 

She has a diplomate in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy from the Academy of Cognitive Therapy and a certificate from a 3-day training in dialectical behavioral therapy. She has also enjoyed volunteering as a group facilitator for Sandcastles Grief Support program which is a grief and loss program for children and teens. 

Lynda is a person of very strong faith, is active in her local church, and considers her role as a psychotherapist a calling. 

Lynda enjoys reading, painting, walking, and spending time with loved ones.
